Open up creative possibilities in this fun and inventive camp and explore the 2-D world of paint and color. Discover new techniques for creating paintings using different tools and materials to create art.

Learn about pigments and hues, saturation of color, and how your ideas come together to create your own unique composition. Use sticks, colored pencil drawings, thick and thin paint, collage pieces, and texturing with sand, string and beads on boards.

Tactile experiences contribute to this camp’s appeal. By playing with core art elements and principles of design, you’ll will come away with one-of-a-kind works of art.

Early Registration EXTENDED through May 31:
Camp fee per week: $157.50/members, $175/nonmembers

No prerequisites. Class designed for all experience levels.
Location: ArtEast Art Center

Stay All Day! Register for both morning and afternoon summer camps and stay from 9am to 4pm each day. Remember to bring a sack lunch.

Optional Lunch Bunch available from 12-1pm. Cost is $30 for the week. (If enrolling in both AM & PM camps, then Lunch Bunch fee is waived). MEALS NOT PROVIDED.

About the Instructor

Gail Baker is a professional artist. She received her MA from the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology in 2000 in Psychology with an emphasis on creative expression, learning styles and multiple intelligences. Gail has taught children and adults in private and public settings in Washington and Alaska for 28 years.
