Description

Monday-Friday, July 9-13, 9am–12pm
Ages 12+

Instructor: Abigail Platter

Sharpen your pencils and take your creative skills to a whole new level with concept drawing. Develop and practice techniques that strengthen all types of drawings, paintings, illustrations, and more!

For centuries, artists have used the same basic techniques to learn how to draw everything, from what they see in front of them, to what they see in their imagination. In this introduction to concept drawing summer camp, students will take steps to learn how to draw in those same, time tested ways. By first learning how to see and build form through construction of simple shapes, students will begin the exciting journey of creating from their own imagination.

Explore the realistic and imaginative techniques of drawing, investigate perspective and reference, and sample a variety of media to gain a better understanding of drawing, and enhance imaginative drawings as well.

All materials included.

Each student needs to wear studio appropriate clothing. Please bring a nut-free snack and labeled water bottle to each class.
