Salon: Watercolor – Painting Northwest Skies

Wednesday, July 10th from 7:00 – 8:30pm. Free and open to the public

Presenter: David Repyak

Location: ArtEast Art Center – 95 Front Street North, Issaquah, WA 98027

Follow the translucent effects of light and air in a watercolor demo by artist David Repyak. The process of creating a believable and expressive Northwest sky will be revealed in a series of techniques: dry brush, color layering, mixing of grays, and a recommended (earthy) Northwest color palette. David will also share his approach to Plein Air Painting including tips and tricks for working outside.

“My goal as a teaching artist is to provide a playful and creative environment for the local community, where artists feel safe and are encouraged to explore new ways to communicate their ideas. It is my hope, with more attention placed on process than on product, student artwork will lift the soul and inspire an understanding of life.”

All are welcome to come and experience this free Salon presentation and be part of the conversation! Bring a notebook, pen, thoughts, questions, and a friend.

See you there!
