A Year of Roses Opening Reception

Guest Speaker: Carrie Schmitt
Date: Saturday, June 23, 2018 6:30-8:30 PM

Join artist Carrie Schmitt for her exhibition opening, A Year of Roses: An Accidental Spiritual Pilgrimage and take a tour of Rosie, her new mobile art studio bus (a converted 2003 short school bus). Rosie has been completely renovated with hardwood floors, a sink, and many other studio comforts. Best of all, Rosie’s colorful outside was painted in expressive style by the artist herself.

The exhibition features Carrie’s art and storytelling from her Year of Roses Project. In 2017, Carrie gave away a rose to a stranger every day for a year and wrote a memoir about her experiences. She will be sharing excerpts from the memoir at the opening.

To celebrate Rosie, there will be many art prizes given including the chance to win an original painting and a chance to win a painting day with Rosie and Carrie. Join us!

Free for everyone!
