Deborah Freng is a self-admitted color junkie. Her preoccupation with HUE is punctuated by a lifelong interest in texture, shape, and lighting.
Freng completed her BA in Art from Western Washington University where she majored in Fine Art and Visual Communications. As a child she took painting lessons from William Cumming at Kirkland Arts Center. Later, in art school, she was once again a painting student of Mr. Cumming and studied design with Northwest Artist Fred Griffin.
Deb’s career spans Painting, Photography, Textiles, Newspaper Ad Layout, Op Ed Cartooning, Freelance Design, Illustration & Copy Writing, Animated Documentary Film Production, Ad Agency Print Production and Prop Design, In-House T Shirt Illustration and being one of the first female Manufacturer's Reps in the Seattle commercial printing industry.
Her paintings, drawings, fiber design, and photographic works are owned or have been exhibited at venues including Pacific NW Arts & Crafts Fair, Bellevue Arts & Crafts Fair, Anacortes Art Fair, Fairhaven Gallery, ArtEast Gallery, EAFA Gallery/Seattle Design Center, Swedish Medical Center Clinics-Redmond & Mill Creek, Washington, Overlake Hospital Medical Center- Bellevue Washington, University of Washington Law School/Gates Hall, Bellevue Washington Regional Library and Washington State Department of Transportation, Olympia, WA. When not making art, she's riding her bike or kayaking with her husband at home in Washington State.
