Since 1991, I have focused my creative energy on luminous, vibrant silk paintings of flowers and landscapes. After 26 years and 1,500 paintings sold, I decided to completely change mediums. In 2016, I expanded to oil painting and am now predominately applying my energy to this very challenging medium. Oil painting is entirely different than silk painting and the change has been a challenging growth opportunity, invigorating me on all levels. Oils open up the opportunity for an outpouring of detail and personality, something I have missed in the silk painting arena. My current body of paintings features enduring creatures - curious, vulnerable beings that want to be loved and admired by everyone. As city dwellers, we rarely get an intimate look at wild animals or even farm animals. I love to bring them into the home for an eclectic addition to the art collection.
