This year our table centerpieces are a collection of original art across multiple mediums and styles, from purely decorative to engaging to functional. If you have ever visited our gallery, you know that ArtEast hosts the full spectrum of visual arts, and we have chosen to reflect that diversity in our centerpiece choices.
Something catch your eye? You can see these pieces in person until April 8th in our front window! We are offering “I Feel Lucky” and “Buy It Now” options: you can buy your favorite centerpiece now at 150% of the value, or you can try your luck by agreeing to pay 75% of the value if it doesn’t sell the night of the auction.
Many centerpieces will sell for a higher price. How lucky do you feel?

Set of six polymer clay crow sculptures by a bona fide crow enthusiast. Kamilla’s paintings and sculptures express the social and intelligent nature of crows, and often her work displays a clever sense of humor.
For Kamilla, crows are “harbingers of possibility.” What possibilities do they hold for you?

Judy’s ceramic work often reflects her passion for gardening and she mixes intricate details (like the rooster’s carefully crafted feathers) with lighthearted pieces. Judy has a long career in art with a keen eye for both texture and scale.

A 5-stick candelabra constructed from recycled metal, including vintage hand drills. Denny deconstructs found, functional objects to create pieces with entirely new purposes. Denny’s artwork displays creative resourcefulness and this piece demonstrates flexible appeal for a variety of home decors.

John’s ceramic pieces evoke a sense of reverence and invite consideration for symbolism and ceremony. The composition of this 16x8” porcelain urn is a study in balance, and the exquisite lid detail with gold accents highlights John’s incredible skill with this medium.

David Lutrick has turned maple wood into a deep salad bowl with feet. David creates both decorative and functional wood pieces that showcase the natural character of the raw material.
In addition to contributing items for the auction, David is also offering an opportunity for hands-on wood turning lessons to a lucky winning bidder during our auction.

Deby Harvey combines forged copper holloware techniques with organic shapes in this copper leaf sculpture. A career artist, Deby is versatile from the table top scale to full architecture. In Deby’s words, “Nature is astounding in its ability to make the complex look simple. For me, that contradiction holds a parallel to every day of life. It’s that same interplay of simple to complex that directs my approach to art.”

These two recycled glass bowls turn discarded material into new possibilities thanks to the artists at Recology.
Recology has offered Artist-in-Residence opportunities since 1990 to creatively address how materials can be repurposed, and in 2017 ArtEast hosted an artist during our youth summer camp program.

Take home a piece of the community in this bowl. A sawara cypress classified as an Issaquah Heritage tree once stood on Front St. in front of Village Theatre. This bowl is part of a family of pieces created from the tree after it was felled by a windstorm. Size 15.5” x 5.5”. This is the second centerpiece donated by David Lutrick.

Dan Bergsma’s fluted glass bowl is a signature piece that adds flair to any decor. Dan’s work is found in many galleries and museums in the Pacific Northwest.

A hand blown glass vessel by Dan Bergsma in browns with a dichroic glass swirl. This is the second piece we are pleased to offer from this widely collected glass artist .

This figurative sculpture is made of wax, silk, and gauze on wire. Inspired by a technique she learned while living abroad, Anne Anderson spent many years working with silk and wax to create vibrant and unique paintings. She is also a collected jewelry artist, and this sculptural piece combines her eye for line and form with mastery of her most familiar materials.

Art by Fire is a glass school and gallery just down the street from ArtEast art center. Art by Fire offers classes in glassblowing, lampworking, and jewelry making.

This piece by painter and ceramicist Kerstin McKee is a bowl full of absolute joy finished with a gold rim and her signature glazing style. Kerstin’s pieces often reflect sensual, nature-inspired themes.

“Waves” is a basket constructed of black steel mesh, pearls, and hand-formed metal domes. As a former architect, Anne brings a wonderful knowledge of space and form to her pieces.

A imaginative and playful story box that invites the viewer to narrate a story. Size 10x10”. Carol has brought wonderful wit and charm to this featured centerpiece, and it will be a fun conversation piece in any home.

A delicate, blown-glass tulip with stand.
Carol Ross and Pam Holderman hand-dyed Pysanky eggs (Item P162) through an in depth process of wax design and dye application. This is a traditional Ukrainian technique for decorating Easter eggs.
Anne Lindsay created a case for the eggs (Item P163), and the case comes with an invitation to join Carol Ross to dye your own eggs in 2019.
