July 8th - July 29th Collective Works - Over the Edge+
artEAST is pleased to present the monthly Collective Works Exhibitions with "Over the Edge+", a selection of artists who are past participants of the Artist Trust Edge Program. The work is diverse in media and content, but has in common a sense of conviction to respective conceptual and technical processes of the artists. The Edge program centers on the business of art, but more importantly brings artists face to face with searing questions about the self and art by confronting oneself on the edge of truth.
  • Mary Coss' mixed media sculptures utilize organic forms delving into primal regions of the psyche
  • Pirjo Berg's textural paintings are an intellectual pursuit of linear abstractions
  • Sharon Birzer's monoprints expose animal disections in lyrical, poetic forms set in a visual dialogue with abstract prints
  • Deborah Kapoor's encaustic and mixed media constructions are profound explorations of the spirit
  • Susan Lockwood's paintings are probing deconstructions of place and time
  • Ricki Wolfe's mixed media paintings employ inventive technique and authentic expression
Location: The Gallery at UP Front [art]
Opening Reception: July 11th, 6 - 9pm

Aug 1st - Aug 30th Collective Works - Fairytales! Fables! & Folklore!
Fairytales, Fables & Folklore is the theme this year for the Sammamish Artists Show in August. The curator chose this theme as a new creative outlet to have the artists expand their imaginations and to just have fun! All of the artists bring something different to the show, one specializes in encaustics, another in murals, quilting, and stained glass. With all the different mediums being showcased customers and viewers can see their interpretations of fairytales, fables and folklore come alive! This is the second year for the Sammamish Artists to participate. Last year was an introduction to the art scene in Issaquah, to let everyone know their nearby neighbors have talented individuals that also want to share their works with the City of Issaquah. This year we are thrilled that ArtEast wanted to have us come again and are excited to show our new creative works with them.

Featuring Sammamish Artists:
  • Jamie McKay
  • Kurt Rodenhiser
  • Carol Paschal
  • Ann Elizabeth Scott
  • Carol Ross
  • Katya Palladina
