Welcome to the new year filed with art at artEAST. Join us for Exhibit openings, new classes and special artist events for members throughout 2018.

Winter Term Registration Now Open

Winter term begins January 4, 2018. Register now for best pricing in a wide range of art mediums. New Adult courses include stained glass, drawing, tin art and photography. Youth and Teen art courses, specialty classes and school break camps now available for registration.

Calls for Art

There are two open calls for art for upcoming exhibitions. The deadline for the “Identified” show is January 22. The deadline for “(in)Habit” is February 1.

Tarot: In the Cards” at artEAST Art Center

Twenty-two artists were invited to explore the art and symbolism of tarot’s major arcana with the freedom to derive their own interpretation of these key cards. The resulting body of expressive work is infused with layers of meaning, humor, and social commentary.

“Tarot: In the Cards” is the first in a series of events on the concept of fortune leading up to “A Night of Good Fortune” at our 2018 auction on April 14th, which is being held in the art center’s 13th year of operation.

Exhibition dates: Jan 1 – Feb 15

Reception: Thu, Jan 18, 6-8pm

Salon: “Art and Symbolism of Tarot” with Carla Dimitriou, Thu, Feb 1, 6-8pm.

A special exhibition poster featuring all of the artists is available in the retail gallery at our art center.

INTERSECTIONS: Natural, Intuitive, Intentional” at Blakely Hall

Nature is the point of departure and the destination for the artists in INTERSECTIONS. These artists use the medium of encaustic to embody the interrelationship between subject and matter.

Exhibition Dates: Jan 16 – Mar 12

Reception: Thu, Jan 18, 7-8:30pm

Artist Talk: Fri, Feb 16, 6:30-8pm

Exhibiting artists: Kim Kopp, Stephanie Hargrave, Deborah Kapoor, Tara McDermott

Blakely Hall is located in Issaquah Highlands at 2550 NE Park Dr and is typically open M-F 8-5 unless reserved for a special event.
