Beginning Glass Fusing

12-4pm Saturday, November 4, 2017 at artEAST Annex

Instructor: John Casey

From this initial 4 hour class, students of all ages will be able to understand the basic physical and chemical characteristics of glass and how these properties effect and dictate the physics behind the melting and molding of glass.  Students will also be taught basic glass cutting and grinding principles.

After the initial instruction, each student will be given the chance to put together one or two glass projects depending on the size of the projects.  Projects are composed of a variety of options from glass bowls and platters to seasonal decorations or solo free style creations.

Available to each student is a variety of molds, glass colors and styles with many handmade glass decorations/accent pieces to supplement each student’s design and creative energies.

The fusing process, the actual melting or fusing of each glass project, will take place at the end of each class with the finished project available for pickup the following week.

The goal of the class is to have fun creating a beautiful art glass piece that will last a lifetime.

The artEAST Annex is located two blocks south of Front Street at 195 First Place NW #400 in Issaquah.
