Member Call for Fall: Have a Cup of Creativity

Exhibition: October 2–November 15, 2017

We are excited to partner with Pottery Northwest for an exhibit of functional ceramic cups at artEAST this fall. Juried entries from artEAST members will be shown along with work by Pottery Northwest resident artists.

We are looking forward to seeing the accepted artists and their work at during Salmon Days, October 7 & 8, and the Closing Reception 7-9 pm on Thursday, November 2. Bring your friends!

Important Dates

Submission Deadline: Monday, September 18, 2017, midnight
Notification Date:
Thursday, September 21
Art Intake: Friday, September 29, 11am–8pm
Exhibition Dates: October 2–November 15 2017
October Salmon Days: October 7 & 8
Closing Reception: Thursday, November 2, 7–9pm
Art Pickup: Wednesday, November 15, 2017, 11–7:30pm

All applicants will be notified via email by September 21 if they are accepted.

 Exhibition Expectations
  • Open to all artEAST members
  • Submissions are to be functional ceramic pieces, no taller than 12″
  • Each artist may submit 4 images, which must represent actual submissions
  • Artists are responsible for physical delivery and pickup of their accepted artwork(s).
  • Artists must sign the Gallery Release form and an Artist Inventory listing the piece(s) on intake.
  • A current W-9 form must be on file to pay commission on any sales, which will be processed at the end of the exhibition.
  • Accepted artists are expected to attend either the closing reception or Salmon Days.
  • Purchased work will be taken home at the time of purchase.
  • All sales will go through the artEAST Gallery sales desk.
  • A 50% commission fee will be taken on all exhibition sales.
  • Artists are responsible for reading and following the exhibition guidelines and expectations.
To apply to the exhibition

1. Prepare your .JPG files to the following specifications:

  • File format: JPEG only
  • File dimensions: Use maximum image size of 1200 pixels on the longest dimension
  • File resolution: Save at 72 ppi/dpi (standard web resolution)
  • File size: 3 MB maximum
  • Rename your files with your last name and a number. For example: Doe_01.jpg, Doe_02.jpg.

2. Send us the following information by email (cups@arteast.org) or post (artEAST, 95 Front St. N, Issaquah WA 98027).

  • Subject: Cups Submission – <YOUR LAST NAME>
  • Contact information: Name, best phone number to reach you, mailing address, and website if you have one.
  • Your artist statement (relating to your submission and/or exhibit theme), in 100 words or less

3. Provide your artwork images as email attachments or on a CD. For each piece of art submitted, provide:

  • Title
  • Year completed
  • Finished dimensions (no taller than 12″)
  • Price
