artEAST Studio Group

7pm–9:30pm Mondays, September 11 – November 13, 2017
or 1:45-4:15pm Thursdays, September 7 – November 9, 2017
($10 per session)

Members only. Artists of all levels welcome. No session on November 23rd.

If you are a member committed to growing as an artist then engage with your peers in our weekly studio group and give yourself dedicated time to move our practice forward.

WE ARE PERSUADED that making lots of work is NECESSARY FOR IMPROVEMENT; that it takes REGULAR DELIBERATE PRACTICE to master a skill; and that the surest way to achieve that regular practice is by making it HABITUAL.

The Studio Group is a time for self-directed exploration, experimentation and play in your chosen media. artEAST will provide drop cloths, easels, chairs, benches, pottery wheels, etc. Every participant will be responsible for ensuring all supplies are properly cleaned and put away for future use. A facilitator will be on hand to direct participants to available supplies and ensure everyone cleans up completely and thoughtfully for future use.

Each group meets weekly for 2.5 hours of shared studio time. Weekly sessions will be dedicated to studio time and casual conversation about work in progress. Artists are welcome to use any non-volatile medium that does not unreasonably discomfort fellow artists. If you have any questions please contact Rebecca at education@arteast.org.

Monthly sessions: $10 drop-in fee per session
