Second session now enrolling: Thursdays, March 2 -April 6, 6:30pm–8:30pm
(6 sessions each)
Instructor: Linda Harold
Join Instructor Linda Harold and learn the basic “how-to’s” of oil painting. If you have painted before, join us for a refresher and quickly move on to working at your own pace. We will begin with different types of brushes and how to use them, trying out various brush strokes and the vocabulary of color, how and why to use a color wheel, mixing paint and cleaning and caring for your brushes.
There will be discussions about light, lines, perspective and keeping it simple. Each of you will add to the flavor and depth of these classes with your questions and different experiences.
Our first painting will be a teacher demonstration with students following along. We will practice brush strokes and blending techniques and we’ll learn ways to fix mistakes that may happen. Students will begin to get comfortable with making sure their paint is the correct consistency.
