Mondays 7–9:30pm or Thursdays 1:45–4:15pm, January 24–June 26
Members only. Artists of all levels welcome.
If you are a member committed to growing as an artist then engage with your peers in one of our weekly studio groups and be part of this supportive and inclusive group.
WE ARE PERSUADED that making lots of work is NECESSARY FOR IMPROVEMENT; that it takes REGULAR DELIBERATE PRACTICE to master a skill; and that the surest way to achieve that regular practice is by making it HABITUAL.
The Studio Group is a time for self-directed exploration, experimentation and play in your chosen media. artEAST will provide drop cloths, easels, chairs, benches, pottery wheels, etc. Every participant will be responsible for ensuring all supplies are properly cleaned and put away for future use. Coordinators will be on hand to direct participants to available supplies and ensure everyone cleans up completely and thoughtfully for future use.
Each group meets weekly for 2.5 hours of shared studio time. The first meeting of each month will be a discussion session moderated by Ellen Borison in the evening and Cynthia Hall for the afternoon sessions. This is a time to get to know one another as artists, and for collaborative problem solving — an opportunity to present your work for feedback from the group, and to participate in giving constructive feedback to others. The remaining weekly sessions will be dedicated to studio time and casual conversation about work in progress.
Artists are welcome to use any non-volatile medium that does not unreasonably discomfort fellow artists. If you have any questions please contact Rebecca at email@example.com.
Extra Benefit: Register for either the evening or afternoon sessions and attend all available sessions that month, space permitting.
