ExhLogoHoriz

Working Period: July 15 – August 30
Exhibition: September 19–November 15, 2016
Reception: Thursday, September 29, 6-8pm
Members’ Event: Sunday, October 16th, 4-6pm

Curated by  Anna Macrae

We invited all artEAST members to take part in this 20 Days of Art challenge. A jury selected eight of those members to have their work presented in the Exhibitions space this fall.

This project was designed to challenge artists to explore making a series of new works over a consecutive period of time. Artists were asked to build on exploring a process, technique or subject, and create a cohesive body of work that showed progression within that series, while pushing their own artistic practice.

The participating artists embraced the project and set new parameters within their normal way of working. Each artist reported a sense of personal growth by making new work to the outlined criteria, over a limited period.

The artEAST membership was encouraged participate in 20 Days of Art, by making work under the same guidelines. We shared artwork images in a private Facebook group, and enjoyed seeing each other’s progress. During the annual Members Event on October 16th, all members will have the opportunity to showcase the work that they have made, in a pop-up exhibition in the education room.
