Valerie Collymore

Born to a physician and a nurse in a small town in New Jersey, life circumstances brought Valerie to the French Riviera at the age of 9, which had a profound impact her aesthetic awareness, an ‘in-the-moment” character of a scene, and sense of design, color and unusual light effects.  Like so many of us, she put her art aspirations on hold for several decades as she pursued her career as a physician, studying at Brown University Medicine, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and Children’s Hospital University in LA.   Art has now returned to be her central focus and she is an artEAST member, an accomplished oil painter and art instructor with focus on French and American Impressionism.  Valerie is on the Board of Trustees of the Bellevue Arts Museum and also associated with the Puget Sound Group of NW Painters, Plein Air Washington Artists and the French-American Chamber of Commerce of the Pacific Northwest.
