Cynthia Gerdes

Encaustic and Mixed Media
Website
On display at UP Front Gallery

Cynthia began encaustic painting in 2008 after years of attending galleries and art shows as a patron.  Once she began her own creative explorations in a studio practice, she found herself being attracted to working with sharp objects and fire.  Cynthia has worked in mosaic, welding, glass casting, bronze casting, and watercolor.  These explorations led to an encaustic painting class where she found an instant affinity to the medium, and has quickly developed her own distinctive style and mastery of skill.
