Peggy Braeutigam has been a resident of Issaquah for 30 years. In that time she has taught calligraphy, drawing, and pastels to adults for various organizations including Issaquah Parks and Recreation, Issaquah Gallery, Bellevue Art and Frame, Daniel Smith, Cascadia Community College, and Kirkland Arts Center. She has also been invited to teach pastel workshops for organizations around the U.S. In each of these classes or workshops, the emphasis has been on learning the basic techniques of the medium while having fun doing so, and then going beyond the basics to produce work in one’s own manner of painting. Many of her students have gone on to produce competition level works.
